Hi Exploders! Don't you know that The Rock Explosion has become more and more an international webzine? This interview has been posed to The Revolution Riot by our Swedish writer Victoria Gayford. Personally I owed these guys an interview for ages, I promised it during the Teenage Angst period. This has been the first interview our Victoria realized. I met her one night, fell in love with her and asked her to marry me! Noooo!!! I'm just kidding, ups… my true girlfriend is totally freaked and pissed out! Calm down babe, that was just a joke. Really I met Victoria on the web and asked her to help me interview Swedish bands. So Exploders, here you are another bunch of questions, this time submitted to Tom E & Co. Revolution Riot are ready for you, they will tell us about pure rock'n'roll and silicon tits! Check it out!

Hi Guys, I'm very pleased to meet you. Let's introduce yourselves to our readers and explain when and how did you form the band:
Tom-E: We didn't...haha. It evolved from another band that Glitz had started with our first bass player, Sleazy Texas, and some other guys. But if ya want the full story you can read the bio on our web page, www.revolutionriot.com.
Glitz: Me and the original bassplayer Sleazy Texas started the band back in '96 with two other guys. After about a year we fired the drummer and the guitarplayer quit shortly after. We then contacted Tom-E (both me and Texas knew him from way back) and things started to fall into place. We stayed as a trio for about a year but we really needed an additional guitar player so we found Skinny in '98(we all hung out in the same clubs). Texas left in '99 and was replaced by Eazy, an old friend of mine. He stayed until shortly after the "Out Of The Gutter" album was released and was replaced by Fisch in 2001.

Have you ever thought about getting another band member to your group?
Tom-E: Nah, only if he could play the skin-banjo like a she-devil...haha
Glitz: Yeah I´m constantly begging for a singer!!

Can you tell us if you could figure it out, where would your dream gig take place at?
Tom-E: I dunno, really. Madison Square Garden, maybe. Or Budokan. Or the Whiskey. Or CBGB's. As long as the crowds going nuts and we deliver, I guess I really don't care where we play.
Glitz: Any sold out stadium is fine for me!

So who would you consider to be your inspiration when it comes to music? What made you want to be a part of the rock world today?
Tom-E: I don't... (laughs). The one who has inspired me the most is probably Lemmy and Motorhead. I mean, they're the reason that I wanted to be on a stage in the first place, but as for the band, we listen to a lot of shit and pick up stuff a bit here and there. Whatever's good works, ya know. Lemmy and Motörhead was why I wanted to be on a stage, play music and give a great show, but as for the part about being in "the rock world", that has never been any ambition of mine. It's never been a goal for anyone of us to be a part of "the rock world". Even though that world need a band like us!
Glitz: Motley Crue, Monster Magnet and Zakk Wylde are my favourites... but Ace Frehley and Vince Neil (blond hair and a Les Paul you know...) have contributed to make me want to be part of this world.

Mention 3 questions that you wouldn't like to be asked?
Tom-E: I haven't come across any such questions yet. If I should, I guess that a middle-finger response would do just fine.
Glitz: You can ask me anything you want, but I´m not sure you´ll like the answer!

Have you ever been to Italy before and what's your opinion about this Country?
Tom-E: I think Glitz went to Italy a couple of years ago and enjoyed it quite well. He went to Rome if I'm not wrong. But I've never been there. Would love to though.
Glitz: Yeah I was in Rome a couple of years ago and I loved it!

What's your favourite quotation?
Tom-E: "Just enjoy the Ozzy and keep your mouth shut!"
Glitz: "Life is too short for bad wine"

Do you prefer normal tits or silicon?
Tom-E: Depends on the person they're attached to...Nah, the real deal works better for me.
Glitz: Normal...

What is your attitude towards drinking and drugs?
Tom-E: Don't drink and drive, kids! Aw, c'mon, we're Swedish, and Swedish drink. That's a well-known fact all over the world. But we're more of a beer clan than hard liquor. Well, Skinny likes his Fernet every once in a while...haha. My standpoint on drugs is that I've managed to do well without 'em and I plan on keeping it that way. But it's not my place to moralize over how other people choose to lead their lives.
Glitz: Let´s party!

What's the most important thing, look or music?
Tom-E: Music, most definitely. But, ya wouldn't buy a Christina Aguilera-album if she looked like someone who'd fallen out of the ugly-tree and hit every branch on the way down, now would ya? (Just for the record, I don't buy them anyways but that's cuz she sucks...)
Glitz: Music, but I hate ugly bands!

Is there anybody in your private life at the moment?
Tom-E: Yes. We're all taken except for Fisch who's all up for grabs!
Glitz: My wife and my baby girl rocks!

Do you have any tattoos? And in that case, what do they symbolize for you? Where are they?
Tom-E: I have one large tattoo that isn't quite finished yet. It's on the upper right arm, chest and back, depicting Kiss as Japanese demons. But, of course, due to economical issues, Paul hasn't been inked yet. I'm actually quite proud of it as it is now too. It'll look even better when it's finished. It's all custom made by Matti at Amazing Tattoos here in Stockholm. Great artist.
Glitz: To have tattoos you need money and since I keep smashing guitars on stage I have none!

There's been a revival of 80s' music recently. Do you see yourself as a part of that movement?
Tom-E: Well, yes and no. Mostly no, cuz stupid people always consider 80's hard rock to be all about big, cheesy hair-do's, badly fitting spandex outfits and too much make-up which made some bands look like chicks with dicks, ya know. So, that part of the 80's we don't wanna get mixed up with. I mean, we've never been much into bands like Poison or Tigertailz anyways. And besides, we'd look even worse dressed up as drag queens...haha. But musically, our sound is definitely retro so I guess being a part of that movement musically is inevitable, but hopefully we've added a new twist to it.
Glitz: No, when we started this band everybody said we sounded too much 80´s and now we´re supposed to be a part of some revival, we ain't part of that shit!!

And finally the last question: if you could start all over again, would you do everything the same, or do you regret anything?
Tom-E: Why would ya wanna go around revelling in the past for? What's done is done. If yer not pleased with how things turned out, fine. Do it right the next time around instead. Quit yer whining and get back on the horse instead.
Glitz: I´d probably do it all the same.

The interview is over. You have free space to say what ever you want and whatever you like…
Tom-E: "Cheers to all crazy Italian sleaze monsters! Hopefully we'll get to come down to ya and show ya how it's done in the near future! Oh, and support Bruno and The Rock Explosion, they deserve it! And with that said, this cat is getting the fuck out of Dodge! Arrivederci!!!!"
